~I shared these on my selling blog but I meant to put them on this blog, I'll try again :(  like I explained in THE OTHER blog, I stayed up way to late working on art so I'm a ding bat today with tiredness.

~This is the Hume mansion (Lumber barron) here in my home town. The families have donated some of the original items back to the house, I think that's wonderful BUT I would never part with my family antiques. I have a trove of them that no one is going to take cept my children one day, I would surely cry! NUF' about me, right? lol
~I love the old furniture and quilts. Thought you prim lovers would enjoy these.

Good Morning, look who played Peek~A~Boo with me this morning. They are so darn cute!

The only problem is when I go outside to visit Coda and Toffee my dogs and kitties get so jelouse. They ALWAYS know where I have been. lol

he looks sweet and innocent but he was barking (yelling) at me when I came in and my cat would hardly look at me. SPOILED come to mind perhaps?

Anyways...I came up with an idea last night. Remeber the cute silicone bulbs? well why not make them into night lights? I did and I will be working on more to sell in the next week. There real cute.

AND last, I met up with one of my friends yesturday and went to basket making class, what a treat! Here's my newest and a basket my girlfriend made me last July but I hadn't see her for so long, but I got it now. Thanks Brenda, LOVE IT!

NOW, I need to get to laundry. Ughhh!

Happy Monday, and new painting...

WE had a great weekend, Jimmy and I took my daughter Darcy to see Bruce Springsteen in Detroit Michigan last Friday. Darcy had a choice of what she wanted for her sweet sixteen and this concert was what she chose. It cracks me up that she loves BRUCE of all singers not to mention he was big when I was a little girl. For a guy that is older than my own father he sure puts on a great show!
Just finnished is this mixed media painting. I will be adding her to Etsy this week sometime. She has a ton of detail but is hard to see by the photo. I have to work on my photo skills. :( Anyways, hope everyone had a great weekend too!

THANK YOU to all of our Vets, and to my Grandpa Lyle Hall who served in the U.S. AIR FORCE.  He just passed away last August and he is missed. I use to love listening to him talk about the days he served. I only wish I had recorded him now to play to my children. I looked the internet over for a great american flag image to post and then thought why not share photos of my own Vet hero. I love you grandpa! and I will never forget you!

And a side note, I just figured out how to tell if I haver comments from people, by fluke of course. I feel bad that I have not replied to any of you. I'm still learning to ropes. "THANK YOU" for the sweet comments!

This is what I came up with to cover the purple lids, it works :)
Last night I decided to get started on making christmas gifts for friends and family.

I will share my Pumkin  &  Apple butter recipes. I bought these plastic "Ball" canning or freezer containers that I have mixed feelings about. They were marked down to cheap cheap and they could be re-used so why not, the problem is there not that cute :( they have purple lids. I like purple but not realy the look I was going for! I guess I could cover the tops with fabric and tie rafia around, that should work right? Any Ideas?

PUMPKIN BUTTER

1 (29 ounce) can pumpkin puree

3/4 cup apple juice

2 teaspoons ground ginger

1/2 teaspoon ground cloves

1 1/2 cups white sugar

2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

1 teaspoon ground nutmeg

..DIRECTIONS

1.Combine pumpkin, apple juice, spices, and sugar in a large saucepan; stir well. Bring mixture to a boil. Reduce heat, and simmer for 30 minutes or until thickened. Stir frequently.

2.Transfer to sterile containers and chill in the refrigerator until serving.

APPLE BUTTER

5 1/2 pounds apples - peeled, cored and finely chopped

4 cups sugar

2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon ground cloves

1/4 teaspoon salt

..DIRECTIONS

1.Place apples in a slow cooker. Combine sugar, cinnamon, cloves and salt; pour over apples and mix well. Cover and cook on high for 1 hour. Reduce heat to low; cover and cook for 9-11 hours or until thickened and dark brown, stirring occasionally (stir more frequently as it thickens to prevent sticking). Uncover and cook on low 1 hour longer. If desired, stir with a wire whisk until smooth. Spoon into freezer containers, leaving 1/2-in. headspace. Cover and refrigerate or freeze.

It was a beautiful weekend to drive, thank goodness!  Jimmy and I drove from Mid-Michigan to Sister Bay, Wisconsin. He had a boat to drive to Michigan but the waters were rough, he made it acrossed but way up North of home, so I drove to meet him there insteed of going home. 12-hours later, after me turning up the car radio loud and singing to myself, stopping to get lots-o-coffee amd peeing along the way I got to him way after he was settled in Fankfort. What a sweet town in upper Michigan, very small but realy pretty in the fall. We got a condo for the night and took our time driving 2-hours back home the next day :)  I have always loved road trips but it could not have worked out any better it was awesome to do it during the peek of the leaf color turn! JUST when I think I'm sick of Michigan autumn comes back to remind me of Michigans wonders.
My baby heading out...  :( I'll meet you back in Michigan!
view from our deck...

made it safe to our resting place...
waters still wild the next day....
all I can say is BURRRrrrrrrrr.........
we woke up to the coast gaurd working...uh oh.....

me with "past due souls"

and we ended with good food, shopping and pics with the largest pumpkin grown in Michigan. In all a nice weekend!
