My dad called me and asked me if I'd like to go to an estate sale.... It was only a few blocks from my house and only a couple more than dads house. He just bought a house within a block of me :) I said of course, so the storie goes..... I have never been to one of these before, only heard of them. Although it was sad to see people going thrue someone's belongings some good came from it I guess. I got this set of antique furniture. The day before it was priced only 800.00 dollars and on the second day it was marked to 400.00 which is when I arrived with my daddy :) He bought it for me! pretty cool Dad I think. He has also collected 4~crocks from my great Aunt and Uncle that belonged to my Great Great Grandmother last week. He's always got an eye out for my fave antiques! I love my dad so!!!! Please dont pay to much attention to the ugly bedroom, Jimmy and I re-did all the kids rooms from the walls to the floors and in this process I moved my room upstairs which is a finnished off attic. I have to get new flooring and paint still :( but I do have cool furniture now to put in it! You will see the the headboard is way to tall to get into the room :( and the dresser mirror is too tall for placement as well. I wanted to cry. I'll figure something out, kinda wishing I had not giving my old large tall ceiling room to my daughter.

Errands and the joyful cleaning :( Yucky! Hope you all are having a wonderful day, God Bless, Connie

Natural chemical free face cleanser and moisturizing treatments to try....

Natural chemical free face cleanser and moisturizing treatments to try....

I've just got my new "Herb Companion" and was inspired by these natural recipes to try at home. Like most of you I spend a lot of cash on face care products always trying to find that miricle in a bottle but hate the prices :(

BUT what I really hate MOST of all is the idea of myself and my daughters putting all of those chemicals on our skin knowing how we absorb them all. I found these and wanted to post and give them a try. Let me know if you try them and give me feedback. I will be trying them right along with you. Please becareful not to use anything you are alergic to.

Gentle cleanser~

said to be a good alternative to harsh soaps. This cleanser has soothing properties that make it especially good for sensitive or mature skin.

1~Cup whole milk or soymilk

1/2~ cup whole oats

1~tablespoon honey

~Pour all ingredients on high until smooth and creamy.

~Pour into a clean jar with a tight-fitting lid. Store in refrigerator.

~To use: Place a small amount in the palm of your hand, then gently massage into your skin. Rinse well with warm water and pat your skin dry.

Anti-Aging Cream~

Don't forget an important part of the complexion: your neck. This evening neck cream is rich in skin-conditioning oils. For soft, smooth skin, massage a small amount into your face and neck nightly.

2~tablespoons coconut oil

1~tablespoon olive oil

1~tablespoon grated cocoa butter

1~teaspoon vitamin E oil

~Mix all ingredients in a small pan and heat gently on the stovetop until the mixture warms and just begins to melt.

~Remove from heat and stir until completely melted and mixed. Pour into a clean jar with a lid.

~To Use: Massgae a small amount into your neck and face at night before going to bed.

Restoring Mask

As we age, our skin becomes drier. This moisturizing mask plumps up dry skin with egg yolks, which are an excellent sourse of skin-softening lecithin. If you have extremely dry skin, use weekly.

1~egg yolk

1~teaspoon olive oil

1 to 2~tablespoons mashed avocado

~Mix all ingredients and stir until smooth.

~To Use: Spread on damp skin. Let sit 15 to 20 minutes. Rinse with warm water; pat dry.

Thank goodness, I got some sleep last night :) I just finnished up a new sweetie pie Mohair bear. I added the little dress this time. I like them nakie but thought I'd try a little something new.
The kiddos and I are going to my X~grand mothers in law tonight for dinner. WE hardly see her anymore so we will make the long trip.
I'm planning a blog "give a way" but have to figure out how to do it and what to give.....hmmmmm, should I give a mohair OR a prim item? Any feedback would be great!
Hope everyone is well and have a blessed day! ~Connie

I had some down time today, and I started another project. I started thumbing thrue my old subscription of "Somerset Life"

If you get the magizine....do you recall "The Magic of Fairies" By Dawn Edmonson? Such a sweet idea. I thought I'd give it a try. It's always fun to try something new, right?

My fairie is very hard to see due to my camera that needs to be thrown at the wall. Ughhh! My plan is to do more, so I'll share more another time. I have to get to the laundry and the farm animals now. Hope everyone out there in Blogland has a wonderful weekend. I think my bf is taking me out tonight :) no kids this weekend! what a miracle.

I'm putting the gritty Jane tutorials to use now that the Holidays are behind us. :) (wooh hoo) Here's my version of the Gritty Doll. lol  Jane is the best, I was having problems with my classroom and she got right to fixing it.

While I worked on this dollie tonight, just jake and I here so the house is quiet, Jake (my son) thought he'd give one of our cats a bath. We all know how much cat's love water... right? Well, he pulled it off! The poor kitty is lick, lick, licking himself.  Here's my son and his best friend Alex:  a.k.a. Allie Boo

AND last but not least, I thought I throw in a couple of pics of our trip to Chicago just before Christmas. Jimmy and I took Cassidy (My youngest daughter) there as part of her Christmas present to see the Broadway play...."In The Heights" She had never been to Chicago so she was thrilled with the BIG city, buildings, shopping, Rain Forest Cafe, Fancey Italian Resturants, ( she called it) The elavators in our Hotel, The Show it's self and The Sears Tower. Jimmy and I had to laugh at her a little. She was happy and cute. We take for granted everthing we see that her little eyes had never laid on before. Here she is in the new glass box that hangs over the side of the tower. It was a little bit freekie to say the least. :)

Boy it's amazing how out of practice I have become. I kinda like this piece but I know I can do much much better. Anywho...here's what I did tonight. I'm really going to push myself to at least my old standard of Prim/Folk Art Dollie making. I hope all is good for all of you Bloggers out there!

Happy as a child in a candy shop~

~I will NOT let winter get me down.... least I'm trying not too....

I sold a few of my Mohair bears on Etsy and E~bay so I had some money to play with, gotta love that, right?

So a Etsy shopping I went and have started a few new hobbies that I have been wanting to try.

I love opening the mail box to packages and have the mail man come to the door with goodies or should I say "The Goods"

Here are the wonderful 1860's German Frozen Charlottes~ Simply Love them!

and a creation of one turned into this.....

next is the bird assemblage I couldnt wait to put together.... He's a creepy kind-of-cool.
You cannot see a lot of the detail, sorry!

and the newest Mohair, I made him from my own Original pattern, he is a sweet faced chunky, weighted guy with a sort of goofy look. I'm thinking a face only a mother or creator could love....lol

OH, I wanted to add.....When boredom hit the other day I came across a blog that I fell in love with, This ladie has the sweetest house. If you have not been to her Blog you should check it out. I'm sorry I dont know how to add the links yet but hopefully you can figure it out! :)
Here's the blog.... taylors*farmhouse*attic
